Setting up a Meta Pixel on your website helps you track conversions, optimize ad delivery, and better understand customer interactions. Before you begin, you may want to review the benefits of installing a Meta Pixel.

Note

This article is copied from the Meta website and has been revised for clarity and readability.

Steps to Set up a Meta Pixel

There are two main steps to setting up a Meta Pixel:

  1. Create and Install the Pixel Base Code – You can use a partner integration (if available) or manually add the code to your website.

  2. Set Up Events to Track Key Actions – Define the actions you want to track, such as purchases. You can use a partner integration, the point-and-click event setup tool, or manually add code.

During setup, you’ll be guided through available options. If you choose the manual method, you may need a developer’s assistance.

Using the Conversions API

For better performance and measurement of your Meta ad campaigns, it's recommended to use the Conversions API alongside your Meta Pixel. Learn more about the Conversions API.

Note

Currently, Reusely doesn’t offer a referral program.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you have a website for your business.

  • If setting up the pixel manually, you or your developer must be able to update the website’s code.

How to Set up the Meta Pixel and Events on Your Website

Step 1: Setting up Your Meta Pixel

  1. Click A green circle with a white plus sign in the center. Connect Data Sources, then select Web.

  2. Click Connect.

  3. Enter a name for your Pixel and click Create Pixel.

    • This generates a Pixel ID that you can view in Events Manager.

Note

Your events will be grouped under a dataset linked to this ID. Your new dataset ID is the same as your new pixel ID. Learn more about datasets here.

Step 2: Choose Your Setup Method

Depending on whether you have a website:

  • If you have a website: Enter your URL to check for partner integration options and click Check.

    • If a partner integration is available, follow the on-screen instructions through your partner’s website.

    • If not, click Next to proceed with manual setup.

  • If you don’t have a website: Select I don't have a website and click Continue.

Step 3: Select Your Data Connection Method

Choose how to integrate your data with Meta:

  • Get Guidance (Recommended): Follow on-screen instructions in Events Manager. You can skip the rest of the instructions in this article if you select this option.

  • Do It Yourself: Proceed with manual setup using the instructions below.

Step 4: Choose Your Setup Option

Select one of the following options to set up your pixel, Conversion API, and events, then click Next.

Conversions API and Meta Pixel

Choose your setup method:

Meta Pixel Only

  • Choose Install Code Manually or Check for Partner Integration.

  • If a developer is handling setup, you can email them the instructions.

Manually Install the Meta Pixel Code

If setting up manually,

  1. Copy the pixel base code.

  2. Locate the header section of your website (or its CMS template).

  3. Paste the base code just above the closing </head> tag on every page. Your ID will be included in your base code, and you can use one ID across your whole website.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. (Optional) Enable Automatic Advanced Matching to send customer information.

  6. Click Continue once again.

  7. Add events in two ways:

Events Tracked by Meta Pixel

The Meta Pixel can track various events, including those triggered through a trade-in widget form submission:

  • AddToCart → Triggered when users click "Continue To Get Paid" (Checkout Step).

  • AddPaymentInfo → Triggered when users choose a payout method.

  • Purchase_Reusely → Triggered when an offer is created.

  • FindLocation → Triggered when users select a location for in-store trade-in.

  • Lead → Triggered when the lead endpoint is hit.

  • Search → Triggered when users search for a device.

Data Sent to Facebook via Meta Pixel When an Offer is Submitted

When an offer is submitted, the following data is sent to Facebook via Meta Pixel:

  • Event Name: Purchase_Reusely

    • Data Sent: Total: Cart (Total Offer)

    • Currency: USD

Final Steps

Once your pixel is set up, verify that it's working correctly. You can also add team members to manage your Pixel in Business Manager.
