Shipping Settings

How to customize your shipping kit

Written by Sayed Ahmed

Purpose

The Shipping Settings page allows you to configure how shipping labels, carriers, and return kits work for your buyback program. A well-configured setup ensures accuracy, convenience, and a polished customer experience.

Steps

1. Set Default Label

This section allows you to change your default shipping carrier if you have multiple carriers or shipping integrations.

Important

Ensure you have switched the toggle on and integrated the API key from the selected Add-ons with Reusely.

Activated Your Default Carrier

  1. Navigate to the Add Ons page.

  2. Click "Settings" on the selected shipping API.

  3. Select your preferred carrier from the dropdown menu.

  4. Save your changes to ensure the correct carrier is used for all new buyback offers, and your updates will be automatically reflected on the Shipping Settings page.

Add Shipping Cost to Offer Details page

Enable this setting to display shipping costs directly on the Offer Details page, giving both your team and your customers clear visibility into shipping charges.

  • When disabled: A shipping cost line is displayed below the tracking number on the Offer Details page for reference only. The shipping cost is not deducted from the offer total.

  • When enabled: The shipping cost is deducted from the offer total. Please note that the displayed amount is an estimate until USPS weighs the package. Once the shipment has been processed, the actual shipping cost will be updated and reflected in the offer.

Note: This feature is currently available only for EasyPost USPS shipping services.

Enable Cross-Border Mail-In and Shipping within EU Regions

This feature allows you to offer both domestic and cross-border shipping options within supported EU countries.

Note

Reusely provides cross-border shipping as an optional feature, while the actual shipping is fulfilled directly by your connected carrier. Be sure to configure your cross-border options within your shipping provider’s account. Shipmondo currently supports this feature.

Steps

  • Go to the Shipping Settings page.

  • Switch the Cross-Border toggle On to activate the feature.

  • Click Save Changes to apply the update.

  • Go back to the Add-Ons page and open your shipping courier (e.g., Shipmondo).

  • You will now see a Cross-Border tab next to the Domestic tab—select your preferred shipping courier from there.

Where This Appears

  • Widget (Checkout)
Customers will see a Country/Region step during checkout, allowing them to select their destination country.

  • Create Buyback Mail-In
In the Customer step, you can choose the customer’s country when creating a Mail-In buyback offer.

  • Customer Page
When adding a new customer, you can immediately assign their country to enable the correct cross-border shipping options.

2. Advanced Shipping Rules (Pro Feature)

For Pro users, advanced shipping rules provide greater flexibility by allowing you to assign different shipping carriers based on specific criteria such as models, conditions, or offer values. This feature requires multiple carrier integrations.

Advanced Shipping Rules

You can configure up to three rules using up to three different carriers.

  • Create rules based on:

    • Device Condition (e.g., "New" or "Used")

    • Specific Models (e.g., iPhone 14, Samsung Galaxy S23)

    • Offer Value (e.g., offers above $500)

Multiple Shipping Rules

Set how many additional shipping labels your customers can request for each buyback type (Mail-in, Bulk Offer, and Easy Offer). You can set up to 15 additional shipping labels for each buyback type.

Note

  • Users will only see the assigned carrier and won’t be able to select another.

Example in Action

  • You want to set up so that if a customer buys AirPods, it will be processed with UPS labels, and if they buy an iPhone, it will be processed with USPS labels.

These rules ensure that the system assigns the most suitable carrier based on your predefined criteria, streamlining the shipping process for both you and your customers.

3. Shipping Kit

This section allows you to customize the shipping kit provided to customers, ensuring it meets your business needs and branding requirements.

Note

You can only edit content on the first page of the shipping kit, as the settings are limited to the "Instruction" and "Tips for Shipping Experience" sections.

  • Language Settings: If your preferred language is not English, you must manually update the editable fields. The default setting for these fields is English.

  • Dynamic Codes: Enhance your shipping kit by including dynamic codes in your templates. These codes allow you to personalize the experience for each customer.

    • Example Codes:

      • {:offer-id}: Automatically inserts the unique buyback number for each customer.

      • {:offer-total}: Displays the total amount of the buyback offer for the customer.

      • {:company-name}: Displays the shipping name of your company.

Using these codes ensures that your shipping kits are tailored and informative for every user.

Include Receipt in Shipping Kit

You can choose whether the Mail-In Receipt is included in newly generated Shipping Kit PDFs.

Navigate to:

Settings → Shipping → Shipping Kit

Enable or disable Include receipt in Shipping Kit.

  • ON – The Mail-In Receipt is appended to the Shipping Kit PDF.

  • OFF – The Shipping Kit is generated without the Mail-In Receipt.

Note:

  • Existing accounts have this setting enabled by default.

  • Changes only affect newly generated Shipping Kits.

  • Downloading or printing the receipt separately from Offer Details is not affected.

How the Shipping Kit Appears

Below is an example of how the Shipping Kit is presented to your customers.

Page 1 – Shipping Instructions

The first page contains your customizable content, including the Instructions and Tips for Shipping Experience sections. This is the only page that can be edited directly from:

Settings → Shipping → Shipping Kit

Page 2 – Shipping Label

The second page contains the shipping label generated by your selected shipping carrier (such as EasyPost, ShipEngine, or Shipmondo).

This page cannot be edited from Reusely, as it is automatically generated by your shipping provider.

Pages 3 and Beyond – Receipt

Starting from page 3, the content is generated from your Mail-In Receipt template.

If you'd like to customize the wording, payment instructions, company information, or any other receipt content shown on these pages, you can edit it by navigating to:

Settings → Receipt → Mail-In

For a complete guide on customizing your Mail-In Receipt, please refer to:
Receipt Settings

Note: Any changes made to your Mail-In Receipt template will automatically be reflected on page 3 and all subsequent pages of the Shipping Kit.

Tips and Notes

  • Regularly review your shipping settings to ensure they align with your business goals and customer expectations.

  • Test any advanced shipping rules or dynamic codes to confirm they function as intended before deploying them.

By customizing your shipping options and kits, you can provide a professional and seamless experience for your customers, enhancing their satisfaction and loyalty.
