To integrate your Royal Mail account with EasyPost and manage shipping efficiently, follow these steps:


How to link your Royal Mail account to EasyPost

Pre-Setup Checklist

  1. Royal Mail Account Type: Ensure your Royal Mail account is set as Pay on Delivery Return / Bill on Delivery Return, not a standard account. Contact your Royal Mail account representative to confirm this.

    • Standard accounts incur charges for each label generated, regardless of usage.

  2. EasyPost Account: Sign up for an EasyPost account here if you don’t already have one.

  3. API Key: Generate a production API key from your EasyPost account. If unavailable, contact EasyPost support to enable this feature.


Step 1: Add Your Royal Mail Account to EasyPost

  1. Navigate to the Carrier Accounts Page:

  2. Add Carrier Details:

    • Click Add Carrier and select Royal Mail.

    • Enter the following information:

      • Reference: A custom label for documentation.

      • Description: A brief custom description for reference.

      • Royal Mail Account Number: Contact your Royal Mail representative if unknown.

      • OBA Email Address: Email registered with your Royal Mail account.

      • Posting Location Number (PLN): A 10-digit number starting with 90, provided by Royal Mail.

Step 2: Contact EasyPost Support

After adding your Royal Mail account details:

  1. Reach Out to EasyPost Support:

    • Reach out to EasyPost Support Provide the following details to begin onboarding:

      • OBA Email Address

      • PLN Number

  2. Onboarding Process:

    • EasyPost will load and activate the following services:

      • RoyalMail

      • InternationalSigned

      • InternationalTracked

      • InternationalTrackedAndSigned

      • SpecialDeliveryGuaranteed1pm

      • SpecialDeliveryGuaranteed9am


Step 3: Configure Billing and Wallet

  1. Add Payment Methods:

    • Navigate to the Billing settings in EasyPost.

    • Add two payment methods:

      • Bank account (takes 3–4 days for fund transfers).

      • Credit card (instant, but a 3.75% processing fee applies).

  2. Fund Your Wallet:

    • Ensure sufficient funds in your EasyPost Wallet. This is a pay-as-you-go service, so configure your refill settings appropriately.

Step 4: Connect EasyPost to Reusely

  1. Copy API Key:

    • Log in to your EasyPost account and copy your API key.

  2. Paste API Key in Reusely:

    • Go to the Reusely Add-ons page.

    • Paste the API key in the designated field and click Connect.

Step 5: Finalize Setup

  1. Verify Services:

    • Ensure your preferred Royal Mail services are visible.

    • Select a service as your preferred option and click Save.

  2. Test Integration:

    • Confirm everything is functioning correctly.
