EasyPost Integration with Australian Post (AP)

Managing mail-in shipping doesn't have to be complicated. By integrating your Australia Post (AP) account with EasyPost, you gain access to tools that make your shipping process more efficient and flexible. Follow this step-by-step guide to get started.


Step-by-Step Guide: Connecting Australia Post to EasyPost for Seamless Shipping

Pre-Setup Checklist

  1. Australian Post Account Type: Ensure your account set as Pay on Delivery Return or Bill on Delivery Return account, not the standard account. Contact your AP account representative to confirm this.

  2. EasyPost Account: Sign up for EasyPost account here if you don't have already one.

  3. API Key: Register for a Shipping & Tracking API key with Australia Post.

    Register for a Shipping & Tracking API key with Australia Post. It may take up to 24 hours to receive the necessary credentials, which include:

    • Production Key

    • API URL

    • Username (Key)

    • Password (Secret)

    • Email

    • Account Numbers

The items in bold above are the ones you need to connect AP to your EasyPost account.

Step 1: Add your Australian Post (AP) to EasyPost

  1. Generate an API Key:
    After creating your EasyPost account, generate a production API key. If you cannot locate this option, contact EasyPost Support for assistance.

  2. Add Australia Post as a Carrier:

    • Go to your EasyPost account settings and select Add Carrier.

    • Search for "Australia Post" and select it.

  3. Enter API Credentials:

    • Use the API details provided by Australia Post (Username, Password, Account Numbers, etc.) to complete the setup.

    • You may add a custom reference or description for easier documentation.

Step 2: Configure Payment and Wallet

  1. Add two payment methods in your EasyPost billing settings.

    • Bank Transfer: Processing time is 3–4 days.

    • Credit Card: Instant but includes a 3.75% processing fee.

  2. Add funds to your EasyPost Wallet to enable pay-as-you-go services. Ensure your Wallet is adequately funded to avoid service interruptions.

Step 3: Finalize Integration

  1. Copy your API Key from EasyPost and paste it into the Reusely Add-ons page under the API Key field.

  2. Click the Connect button to complete the integration.

  3. Ensure the "AustralianPost-ParcelPostReturn" service is visible, set it as your preferred service, and click Save.
